Verdict Reporter, Inc. is a legal publisher and a data resource of civil case summaries, including jury verdicts and settlements. We are located in St. Louis, Missouri and have been collecting civil case data in the St. Louis metropolitan area since 1984. Our data has been used by Rand Corp. for statistical studies as well as in legislative hearings for issues such as tort reform.
Verdict Reporter, Inc. publishes three newsletters of civil case summaries. We provide comprehensive coverage of civil jury trials in each venue, allowing us to compile accurate statistical insight to possible trends in regional civil jury verdicts.
We began in the St. Louis metropolitan area in 1984, expanded coverage to include selected venues in the southwestern Illinois area in 1992 and began reporting venues in Missouri that are outside the St. Louis and Kansas City metropolitan areas in 1997.
Each published case summary is about one page in length and is presented in an easy-to-read, outline format. The summaries include the parties involved in the case, the court number, the judge, names and contact information for each trial attorney, plaintiff's allegations and defendant's contentions, injuries, damages, expert witnesses, last demand and offer to settle, the verdict and the status of post-trial activity, if known.
